Η Ερευνητική ομάδα καλλιτεχνών για τον πρώτο αιώνα Ready Made, πρόκειται να παρουσιάσει στην Ελληνοαμερικανική Ένωση από 21 Νοεμβρίου έως 17 Δεκεμβρίου, την ομαδική έκθεση με τίτλο: ΠΡΟΚΑΤ*

Με αφορμή τη συμπλήρωση (περίπου) 100 ετών από την παρουσίαση του πρώτου collage στην ιστορία και, στη συνέχεια, του “ουρητήρα” του Marcel Duchamp, είναι αναγκαίο να συνδιαλλαγούμε με το ποιες είναι οι εφαρμογές και οι διαφορετικές εκφάνσεις του Ready Made στον 21ο αιώνα. Αυτά τα γεγονότα άλλαξαν τα δεδομένα στην καλλιτεχνική δημιουργία αφού, πλέον, η χειροναξία και η εξαρχής δημιουργία δεν ήταν προαπαιτούμενα. Έναν αιώνα μετά, ως γνωστόν, οι καλλιτεχνικές εκθέσεις μπορούν να συμπεριλάβουν οτιδήποτε, από μια εξουθενωτική χειροναξία ή απολύτως αναπαραστατική ζωγραφική έως εντελώς προϋπάρχοντα αντικείμενα. Ο καλλιτέχνης σήμερα μπορεί να είναι και τα δύο. Η έκθεση αυτή θα επιχειρήσει να εξετάσει το πως.

On the occasion of (almost)
100 years since the presentation of the first collage in history and then the
premiere of Marcel Duchamp’s Fountain,
we attempt to reexamine the applications and various manifestations of the
ready-made in 21st century art. Ready-mades essentially challenged conventional
notions about visual arts as manual labor and originality of creation were no
longer prerequisites for the production of works of art. As we all know today,
art exhibits may include virtually anything, from an extremely elaborately
constructed installation or a purely representational painting to preexisting
objects that are elevated to the status of artwork upon their minimal physical
processing or their mere isolation from their ordinary surroundings. Nowadays,
artists are free to express themselves in numerous alternative ways. This
exhibition is an attempt to examine these ways.
